My name is Brett Simmons and I am a junior at Xavier University in Ohio. I enjoyed reading your blog and wondered if you might be able to help me with something. I recently got a grant in which I proposed to got to Tanzania to better understand microfinance there (it is a really independent grant where one doesn’t have to know exactly how it will happen). Kiva sounds great but I do not have enough time in my summer to devote the minimum ten weeks. I was wondering, therefore, if you might be able to assist me since I am having trouble getting in contact with an organization that might let me volunteer/observe their system for 3 or 4 weeks. Any help would be great and since you are there it seemed like a good idea to try.
