Maren,

Thank you for such an eloquent piece. All the experiences, thoughts and memories can be choking. Thank you for sharing your wrap up of G. I've enjoyed all your blogs (I still remember the one about the child street sellers who drew pictures with you), not for enjoyments sake but because they made me think.

After 12 months in Africa, with three to go, I'm feeling a bit weary, but you've reminded me to not just'hang on' for the remainder, but to make the most of it. It's easy to be self-congratulating for volunteering as a fellow, because as you said, by society's standards it's more than enough. But the voice in my head tells me it's not. We have to use this free education for good.

Take care of yourself (and don't feel to guilty for enjoying some comforts; nice toilets, food etc, for a little while). I'm sure the culture shock you're experiencing at home is much greater than that you felt in G! Without sounding preachy, remember that no place is better or worse than another, just a different, and a new opportunity.

Best wishes,
Joannah

Hello Maren,

Thank you very much for your email to me about Kiva.I'm going to contact Kiva's partner here in Indonesia.

Well, I want to comment to what you wrote above.

In my opinion the real problem in fighting poverty is that the rich people and rich countries still don't GIVE enough what they should give. They all have the power and resources to fight poverty, hunger, lack of education and corruption in third world or even around the world but they don't use it in the maximum way.

Because, maybe they think those people who are in misfortune is not my family or my citizens although we are all living under the same sky.

But above of all, to make a change we need to changed ourselves first. Right?

"No action, nothing happened. Take action, miracle happened."

Hi, I'm Lukman From Indonesia. I'm running a small business that is computer typing service here in my home town Palu, Central Sulawesi Province. I know Kiva after watching Oprah show on Indonesia TV. Then I thought, "well this might be the site that I'm looking for in order to get loan online". But, apparently Kiva is only for lenders. So, does anyone can help me how to get a loan from Kiva's lenders ? I really need loans so that I can help my family/parents get out of financial trouble slowly but sure.

Here's one of my plan. I'm going to join online data entry job beside doing my offline business and I have met a great site that offer offline as well as online data entry job at www.365jobs4u.com but need about $40 to join. Does anyone can review this site?

Please, contact me at muh_lukman_t@yahoo.com

Thank you very much for your attention.
