Ooh yeah I'm going to have to second JD's suggestion of burgers and fries. I tend to think that what Americans call Mexican food is pretty darn American, too.

Would it be inappropriate to say that I almost soiled myself as I was laughing while reading this post?

WHOOPS, ALREADY DID!

Aussies don't have any national cuisine either! I mainly eat Thai and Vietnamese and since I am in Vietnam, I would die of shame if I had any locals eat my version of Vietnamese. Loved the blog :) !!

Hey Gary--

Let's co-author a cookbook on one-pot cuisine!

How about cheeseburgers and fries next time?

Be well,
JD

I make pasta and veggies all the time for lunch that way! Saves water, time, and effort, and works with fresh vegetables as well if you add them a bit earlier.

This might be too much work to prepare for a crowd, but what about grilled cheese? That's pretty typical American.
