I've struggled to explain to others why it's a good thing, even though to me it's intuitively important. More people can now see that Kiva.org can do more, not just by supporting entrepreneurs, but also first by helping with shelter -- which is, after all, one of the basic needs -- before invoking the proverbial "it take money to make money".
