I really like your blog; and your insight into the difference between dreams and goals. I think it put into words how I have treated different dreams and goals in my life. However, those dreams that you list as coming from the FINCA clients are definitely alive and well in the United States. Coming from a poor background in the US, I would say that having children who have more educational opportunities and are more successful than their parents, and owning a home and having financial security are definitely the main dreams I have heard from women around me while growing up. "I want my children to have a better life than me" is something I have heard repeatedly.

This is a really beautiful post. I'm seeing the same themes for borrower dreams in Bosnia. Though I've never heard a woman say that she dreams her children will grow up to be better than her. Wow...

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am trying to contact someone from FINCA Peru about a journalism project I am working on. I am coming to Peru in February as part of a work fellowship (I am a reporter for a tv station here in Canada). And I would like to do a story on microcredit, FINCA, and its entrepreneurs. I would appreciate any contact info you could provide. Unfortunately, I do not speak Spanish. Thank you!

I am from KF6 and am in Ghana, and my final question is always what are your hopes for your future. I have had many of the same responses that you have had, and I think you did an amazing job at understanding those responses in a way I hadn't got to yet. Thanks.
