Thank you for that entry. I love to read these open, personal, reflecting and responsible blogs of you KIVA fellows. Very motivating for a lender like me.

Please keep in mind that it is NOT necessary for you to judge Le Colonel. Just keep your experience in your mind and heart. It is part of your life.

You devoted some of your time and money to take care of small entrepreneurs in need. This is, what counts.

Keep up your good work!

Another superb moral seesaw blog to get us all thinking. I must admit I'm often baffled by the horrendous stories one hears in war-torn countries. I really can't comprehend how people can commit these acts and then go home to their families like nothing ever happened. In my mind it shows that
1) some people are prepared to do anything in the name of someone else, be it religion or their boss, and take no personal responsibility
2) the human brain is frighteningly good at compartmentalizing and coping with moral conflicts and questions of conscience

These may or may not apply to Le Colonel but I understand that you are going only on what you know of him. Thank you for sharing.

Your account of things seems to be fair and balanced. :-)

We've all known of evil people who are able to be good to some people, especially family. However, you're able to look into the eyes of the folks there and really read their hearts. There's something to be said for the peace you feel there now, too. Thanks for sharing.

There is a core inside everyone that is connected to all the rest of us, some call that core God. I think you should feel fortunate to be able to find that connection in your host. Joining those cores together is what our main job is. Thanks for being there and being aware. Jan
