A video – My first day in the field

4 March 2009 at 07:58 9 comments

On Monday I was able to meet with a few Kiva borrowers for the first time. I thought I had a good appreciation of both the huge physical barriers that Kiva is able to overcome and the strength that so many of the borrowers possess. I was wrong on both counts. Just going out and visiting 5 clients took all day and the individuals I was able to visit with were more inspiring than I ever could have imagined. I put together a short video in hopes to share some of that experience.

Drew, great video but I was puzzled that the borrowers are all shown in still photos not in moving video? What’s the reason for this?

Ah, there it is! When I clicked through to the comments, the video would play from that screen. That was great, particularly the music.

The video was gone by the time I tried it. Please can you fix it? I really was looking forward to seeing it.

Drew – its killing me that I can’t watch this right now – inner-tubes just too slow here in Kisumu. But way to get one up, I look forward to seeing it in a few months!

This video rocks! More please. Like Nicole’s two-year-old, I also loved the music. Do you think you could send me the soundtrack somehow? Especially the first and last songs. Cheers!

Great video, Drew! This gives me such a good idea of what it’s really like out there. I’m feeling the dust on my face from my cubicle in San Francisco. :)

    Hi, Andrew:

Very interesting video! I really liked the music, and so did my 2-year-old.

    Best regards,
    Nicole

    Drew,

Awesome work man. Looks like you had a great time and I can totally identify with the feeling that accompanies finally getting to meet some borrowers.
