Behind the Scenes: How Kiva REALLY Works

As many Kiva supporters submitted entries to the Kiva Video Contest, I unfortunately was not able to upload my own version of “How Kiva Works” due to Internet issues in Peru. In order to not let the precious hours I spent go to waste, I have included below my attempt at describing how Kiva maintains their innovative model, particularly highlighting the role of the Field Partners, who perform an incredibly vital role in the Kiva cycle. Enjoy!

The first phase of this project started in the year 2005 with about 3.000 birds having five employees working at the farm.
Due to lack of financial assistance the motive behind the project could not be realized. As at now the construction of the birds’ shelters is at a standstill with absolutely not even a single bird at the farm house.
Sir, the fact is that, a farm house which is supposed to house the envisaged 10.000 birds is lying idle. Ghana is recognized as one of the stable countries in terms of its political administration and because of the unfavorable investment climate in the country, I would like to plead for a loan of $45,000 $50,000 to help me realize my vision of feeding my fellow Ghanaians.
I should also be grateful if you could help me with (1)a used tractor which costs about $10.000 (2) 1 used cargo car $15.000 (3) Corn mill machine & corn mill mixture $10.000 (4) Incubator machine $12.000 and (5) 1 used generator $4.000
The company statically aims at mechanizing its products to gain a strong market share, boosts its production and heightens its corporate identity in the flourishing market. To this effects I would like to seek immediate assistance from your outfit to help fully attain that.
Sir, if the bank cannot afford me with my request of $45,000 $50,000 dollars cash which is my immediate need, but can provide in kind in the form of the machineries , I should be grateful to receive them.
Please, below are three thematic action plans for the project;
ACTION PLAN 1 Mechanizing of operations by employing the machines below – Slightly used big truck – Slightly used incubator ( capacity to hatch 8,000 birds) – Slightly used generator – And fill the shelters with 7,000 day old birds with feeding ( food) till they lay eggs.
ACTION PLAN 2 – Beside this, we would be grateful if your company can assist me with 7,000 birds and to provide food till they lay eggs it will get the project going. – Slightly used big truck.
ACTION PLAN 3 – Any number of day old birds that you can be able to assist me with and feed them till they lay eggs and one big truck that can be used to transport goods to the farm.
We have eight (8 acres) of land for future development including 4 acres for cultivating maize to support the poultry farm. The executive directors i.e. the director and the assistant directors are both Italian citizens; and we can honestly and faithfully abide by your terms of payments. It’s a registered company under the company registration code act in Ghana.
Sir, I would be very grateful if my application is considered and I would do my best to pay back within the terms the bank will grant me.
